Come and pray with us.
You do not need to be Armenian, and you do not need to know the service before you arrive. Everyone is welcome to attend, pray with us, and stay for fellowship afterward.
Our worship is filled with Scripture, chant, incense, and ancient prayer. A parishioner can help you follow the service, or you may simply listen and take it in.
Holy Communion is offered according to the sacramental discipline of the Armenian Orthodox Church. If you are visiting from another tradition—or have any question about receiving—please speak with the pastor before the service.

Holy Badarak
In the Divine Liturgy, Christ meets his people in the proclamation of the Gospel and in his holy Body and Blood. Badarak is celebrated every Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Our parish
More than a century in New Britain.
1900
Armenian parish life begins in New Britain, with services first held at St. Mark Episcopal Church.
1941
The Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection on Erwin Place is consecrated by Archbishop Karekin Hovsepiantz.
1980
After years of planning and hands-on work by parishioners, the present church on Stanley Street is consecrated.
Today
We remember those who served faithfully and carry their witness into a new generation.
Our pastor
Rev. Fr. Haroutiun Sabounjian
Fr. Haroutiun studied philosophy, music, and French at Boston College and earned his Master of Divinity from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary and a Certificate of Armenian Studies from St. Nersess Armenian Seminary. After pastoral internship in Providence, he was appointed to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection in 2021 and ordained to the holy priesthood that June.
